Ok, my computer had a virus, so I had to get it fixed last week in the shop. Fortunately, the guy fixed it, but after I got it back, i came to find a lot of my programs were screwed up! He cleaned out the spyware I had without erasing anything, but i guess he might as well have erased it for all I got back. Well anyway, within a lot of these programs, all of my games were not working, so I decided to reinstall them. However, my sappy5 voices are not working. Also I am unable to open narrator, so I'm thinking the problem may be something with the voices itself because I've never had this problem before. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it! I think I may have to repair narrator somehow, it's like my computer is acting like there are no voices on it. Help please?

Hi, you can do a repair of windows from the windows CD. You may need sighted assistance with this, not totally sure though. That will likely help things.

If you are talking about having her do a reformat, she'll need her drivers backed up. hmmm I guess you could do a system restore though I don't know if that would bring back the virus or not, I'd guess not.

try using the sapi repair program fond at www.kitchensinc.net, it may help repair the sapi portion of your system. If not, reformatting may be your only option short of locating the specific problem, which could take a very long time and lots of tedious work that I don't even know how to go about doing.

Actually if sapi isn't working. Download the spchcpl.exe and sdk51 both from the microsoft site. These files will fix both sapi 4 and 5 issues.
I usually just google them and the first search result that comes back is what you want.

Ok, i am going to try that next. I already tried the other program from the kitchensinc site, and I dont think that will work. However, I am going to try both things.
